Salaam means peace. The company was founded as a stand against injustice in the Muslim world, and in Palestine in particular — built on the belief that a business can be a force for good without asking anyone to compromise on taste.

In Salaam Cola's own words, Aykiz Shah's journey began with a simple yet profound belief: that business can be a force for good — and that this platform could be used to address poverty, hunger, and the lack of access to basic human rights like education and healthcare.

£160 AND A DREAM
The brand's own telling: Salaam Cola started in her own kitchen with £160. Within sixteen months it was selling in more than eighteen countries — on taste and word of mouth rather than an advertising budget.

Where does the 10% actually go?
Salaam Cola's charity partner is Muslims in Need, a UK-registered charity (number 1158317). The published programmes are medical aid and child nutrition in Yemen, food and water into Gaza plus support for refugees in Egypt and an educational academy for Palestine, and orphan care and education in Syria. Amounts and beneficiary numbers are not yet published.
